SYRIA

ABC News reports that air strikes and shelling pounded Aleppo for a third straight day on Sunday.

Germany and Angela Merkel are seeking the creation of “safe zones” to shelter refugees in Syria.

TURKEY

One person was killed and 26 were injured in a rocket attack on the Turkish town of Kilis near the Syrian border on Sunday.

GREECE

Strong gusts of wind and waves over 1 m high, as well as rain and thunderstorms, are expected during Sunday night and Monday. Given that waves of 0.5 m are considered dangerous, sea crossings are strongly discouraged.

The Secretary General of NATO said their patrols in the Aegean Sea have had a significant impact on reducing refugee flows from Turkey to Greece.

Police teargassed refugees inside the detention centre Moria on Lesvos on Saturday.

Another abandoned site in Athens occupied in turned into shelter for refugees.

Improvements in camps throughout mainland Greece continue, but conditions remain unsatisfactory.

A big rain storm and strong winds in Idomeni on Sunday; tension in the region.

Volunteers are needed throughout Greece!

MACEDONIA

Several groups of refugees tried crossing the Greek border into Macedonia.

At the town cemetery in Veles, a memorial was held for 14 refugee victims of a train accident that occurred a year ago.
